Why won t my Blink module connect to wifi? ›

Reboot or power cycle the router and wait for internet to return. Verify your Sync Module displays a solid green and solid blue light. If you see any other light pattern, power cycle your Sync Module, unplug the power cord from the back of the unit, wait 10 seconds, and plug it back in.

Use a small object or fingernail to press the reset button for 5 seconds. You will see a flash of red and then after 15 seconds a blinking blue light and solid green light appear at the front of the Sync Module. The Sync Module is ready to be added through the Blink app.

You can't use it to record live view, but all motion-triggered alerts will be saved locally and can be accessed at any time through the Blink app. If you don't have the Sync Module 2, then you'll either have to rely on only getting notifications and having live view, or subscribe to one of the Blink plans.

All Blink account holders have the option to link their Blink accounts to their Amazon accounts. Linking to an Amazon account will allow you to see and manage all of your Blink Subscription Plans in one place, along with the ability to activate Blink Subscription Plans through Amazon.

Is a Blink Subscription Plan required to use my Blink products? No. Your Blink products provide their standard features (such as motion alerts, live view, and two-way audio) without any subscription. Blink Subscription Plans offer additional features for those who want them.

The Blink Wired Floodlight, Video Doorbell, Outdoor and Indoor (3rd Gen), Mini, and XT2 cameras have two-way audio. This allows you to speak through the camera's speaker and listen to the camera microphone for a two-way conversation.

What if I no longer have the phone number associated with my Blink account? If your phone number has changed, or you can't access the phone number associated with your Blink account, contact customer support for assistance. Please note, you must be with your Blink devices in order for customer support to assist you.

If you have cameras that rely on a Sync Module to work, they will cease function until a Sync Module is added back onto the system. After your Sync Module has been deleted, you can immediately add it back your system.

The blink sync module won't work when it loses connection to your Wi-Fi network or power supply. Ensure that your module is connected to a working internet connection. Once connected, the two LED indicators turn solid blue and green. Try power cycling the sync module to get it back online and running.

How far away can camera units be placed? Under normal circumstances, the Sync Module is capable of communicating with Blink cameras up to 100 ft. away in any direction. We recommend keeping the Sync Module near your wireless router for the best signal strength.

You must own or use an existing Sync Module 2. When your Mini is not part of a Blink Subscription or trial, and a recognized USB drive is inserted into the Sync Module 2, your motion clips automatically begin saving to the USB drive.

The Sync Module 2's USB port is compatible with most USB flash drives, allowing you to store video clips locally. Once this is installed, your clips are saved there without having to subscribe to a Blink Subscription Plan.

You can have multiple systems within an account. The Blink app allows you to manage multiple Sync Module systems and their connected Blink devices from a single account. Each Sync Module added to your account allows you to group and manage up to ten cameras in a single system.

The Blink Sync Module is the boss of all your Blink cameras, doorbell, and home security system. It's a little device that connects all your cameras to one IP address, so you don't have to deal with many different ones. Plus, you can even hook up a USB flash drive for local storage of your video files.

Can I use Blink without linking to Amazon? ›

Linking your Blink and Amazon accounts allows you to see and manage all of your Blink Subscription Plans in one place. It is required in order to activate subscription plans and you can unlink your accounts at any time.

You can invite anyone with a company, or personal, email address or mobile number through the Admin Portal. Emails and mobile numbers are unique to each account. Once an account has been invited it can be reinvited at any time but only once per hour.

Encrypted Video Footage

Blink cameras usually encrypt the recorded footage(video and still) for safekeeping. Due to encryption, any unauthorized access to the recorded footage is not possible. The proper encryption prevents data theft.

We can't guarantee a connection from any particular country or internet connection due to firewalls and open ports, but the system is designed to be used when away from home. Wi-Fi will need to remain on in the home for the system to run.

If you receive a “Serial already registered” message when adding a device that you have successfully used in the past, make certain that device has already been deleted from one of your own Blink accounts. Learn more about how to delete a camera.

When you're registering your Blink account or signing back into your account, a 6-digit code (in the form XXX-XXX e.g. 111-111) will be sent to you. This code will be sent to the phone number via SMS or the email address that has been set on your account.

The Blink cameras, when armed turn on and record clips based on motion detection only and send a notification to your compatible mobile device. It would be up to the user to contact the local authorities if needed after watching the motion clip.

Can Blink recognize faces? ›

After the blink detection system and face recognition system. Blink detector is used to detect life, by detecting the blink of an eye for a certain time and with a certain number of blinks, then it enters facial recognition. In the system created, the subject must blink for 3 times to enter into facial recognition.

Blink cameras have an 850nm infrared (IR) LED light to show you clear video in areas of complete darkness. If Night Vision is enabled, your camera will be able to view and record in a low light or non-lit environment.

Can the Blink app be accessed from more than one device? Yes! You can download our app and log into the same account from as many iOS and Android devices as you'd like, so the entire household can receive alerts or check in at home.

If you are not receiving your verification code (also known as a PIN), please follow these steps: Check if your mobile device carrier is flagging your code notification as spam. If you are receiving your PIN via email, kindly check your email's spam, trash, and promotions folders.

You must notify Blink within 15 days of the date the theft occurred, not when the police report was made. Blink may decide to replace a device you report stolen after the 15 day limit at their discretion.

Blink is an Amazon-owned company that makes inexpensive, compact security cameras. The company's battery-powered models are very efficient, running for up to two years on just two AA lithium-ion batteries.

Do Blink Cameras Record Continuously? Unfortunately, Blink cameras do not record 24/7, they are purely motion-based clips. With a subscription plan, you'll only be able to look at Live View continuously, but even that has a time limit. After 90 minutes, Live View will stop.

Blink products work as part of a system. Each system can manage up to 10 Blink devices. When you delete a system, all of its devices are deleted, and an email is sent to the account owner.

If you delete your Blink account, you lose access to clips that are stored on our systems, and you lose access to any Blink devices through the Blink app. When you create a new Blink account, there is no way to access the clips or settings from any other account, past or present.

Can you delete Blink camera then reinstall? ›

After deletion

If you plan on adding the camera again to this system or another system, remove the batteries or unplug it for at least 15 seconds before attempting to add the camera. To reactivate a deleted camera, use the standard process of adding a camera to your Blink system.

The Sync Module 2 has a physical reset button located at the back of the device (number 3 pictured below). When pressed, this button will place your Sync Module into setup mode. Pressing the reset button takes your system offline until you re-add your Sync Module.

Power cycle your camera by removing the batteries for 10 seconds and reinsert them. Then check to see if your camera responds to commands. If the steps above don't resolve the issue, try a different power source. You can use a micro USB cable and USB power adapter to power the camera with the batteries removed.

The Sync Module will reboot and display a solid green and solid blue light within 45 seconds. If you see no lights at all, try another outlet.

If you notice you're still experiencing low signal strength from your cameras, try power cycling your Sync Module by removing it from power for 30 seconds then plugging it back in. Once both lights have stopped flashing and appear solid again, try using the cameras and checking their signal strength.

Resting the Blink SYNC Module typically fixes the flashing red light issue. 1.To reset the Blink SYNC Module, locate the small reset button on the back of the device. 2. Press and hold the button for 10 seconds, or until the LED light on the front of the module starts flashing green.

Often, when adding a camera or Sync Module to your Blink system, the password is mistyped. Try carefully re-entering your password. If you continue to receive the "Incorrect password for Your W-Fi" message, try the next steps. Verify the password by checking if it's written on a sticker located on your router.

Can Blink connect to 5ghz WiFi? ›

Blink products can only connect to 2.4 GHz (802.11 b/g/n) networks. Many newer routers provide 5 GHz Wi-Fi, or switch between 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz automatically. The Sync Module will not respond if it has been switched to a 5 GHz network.

A red light on the Sync Module indicates it has no internet connection. Problem: No blue LED. A solid red LED appears during the setup process or after the Sync Module goes offline.

Blink devices need an always-on 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi internet connection with at least 2 MB per second of upload speed (from your network to the internet). Yes. Just make sure to keep your Outdoor Camera and the Sync Module 2 updated through the Blink app when necessary. If you buy future security cameras from Blink, you may also need to upgrade your Sync Module to ensure this method still works.

If you receive a "Camera Offline" notification that "Your Blink Mini is offline", it means the Blink servers lost communication with the camera. This will normally fix itself when the network comes back up, or when there is less traffic on the Wi-Fi network.

In a typical situation (single building, no unusually dense construction materials), the Sync Module should be able to communicate with Blink cameras up to 100 ft. (30m) away in any direction. We recommend keeping the Sync Module near your wireless router for best signal strength.

A: The Blink System does not require a static IP address. We currently only offer our free cloud storage for the basic Blink camera systems accessible via the Blink App.
